Informal Workplace Learning in Swedish Police Education– A Teacher Perspective

Abstract In the literature, informal learning is considered to be of great importance employees’ development workplace learning. The aim this study, which involves respondents from a Swedish police education unit, was contribute knowledge about teachers’ as regards conditions for learning, activities and experiences resulting their engagement in these activities. results study are based on daily digital logbook notes made by 25 university teachers during one month subsequent interviews with teachers. main conclusions can summarised follows: 1) culture, structure materials important parts 2) characterised intentional where supporting interactions colleagues own teams other, more knowledgeable, highly valued. Furthermore, most common triggers issues relating pedagogy technology, face-to-face contacts preferred. 3) describe course transition an instructor-based teaching-oriented approach, while focused contextualisation teaching integrating academic into practice. article concludes brief discussion possibilities limitations
